Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty to provide high-quality instruction and student support in alignment with the District's mission of advancing equity, student success, and academic excellence. Assignments are made on an as-needed basis for day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges.

Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher with two years of professional experience OR an associate degree with six years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of students.
• Transcripts may be required to verify qualifications and equivalency requests may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved outlines and outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction using evidence-based practices.
• Develop and maintain syllabi, materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance timely and equitably and maintain records.
• Submit grades and reports by deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment for diverse students.
• Maintain communication with students and respond to inquiries.
• Utilize LMS and other instructional technologies appropriately.
• Comply with district policies, bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and regulations.
• Participate in department meetings and college activities for part-time faculty.
