Job summary

Ambercare Homecare in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our growing team. You will provide direct physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in home-based settings.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, aiding patients to regain function, documenting progress, and contributing to treatment plans. A CPR certificate, current PTA license, and willingness to travel to nearby zip codes are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an AS/AA in science or applied science approved by the APTA.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
• At least 1 year of PTA experience preferred.
• Complies and maintains CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under supervision and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
• Treats patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Aids patients in active and passive exercises, gait training, and functional training.
• Administers non-complex therapeutic exercises and modalities in stable conditions.
• Instructs and assists clients in learning and improving functional activities.
• Observes progress and reports findings to the supervising PT.
