Job summary

Monroe County is seeking an On-Call Driver for the Home-Delivered Meals program in Key West. The role delivers meals to homebound clients, ensuring safety, timeliness, and courteous service in accordance with DOEA standards.

You will report to the Manager, In-Home & Nutrition Services and may assist with related tasks as needed. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, a Florida driver’s license, and completion of a Food Safety Handler certificate within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Food Safety Handler certificate within 30 days of employment.
• Level II background screening required.
• Alliance for Aging Nutrition Program annual completion required.

Responsibilities

• Transports and delivers meals from distribution sites to recipients’ homes.
• Ensures meals are delivered timely and courteously.
• Maintains proper meal temperatures per safety standards.
• Completes paperwork accurately for billing and records.
• Performs daily vehicle inspections and vehicle cleaning.
• May drive to support special, emergency, or disaster operations.
