Sacbar is seeking a dedicated Health Coach to support individuals in achieving healthier lifestyles. This part-time, temporary role emphasizes motivational interviewing, behavior-change strategies, and accountability to empower clients without diagnosis or treatment duties.
The Health Coach collaborates with staff across departments, reports to the Assistant Director, Fitness and Wellness, and participates in wellness events while maintaining professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
Compensation:Coaching Rate: Varies on Experience ($25-$35)and Meeting Rate (Non-Session): $16.90
Hours: 0 to 19.5 hours/week regular semester (up to 40 hours/week summer)
Broad Scope and Function:
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, non-student/student position. The Health Coach partners with individuals in a collaborative, client-centered process to support healthy lifestyle behaviors. Health coaches help clients increase self-awareness, identify strengths, and set realistic goals related to physical activity, stress management, nutrition habits, and overall well-being.
The Health Coach does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, provide nutrition or exercise prescriptions, or perform therapy. Instead, the role is focused on motivational interviewing, behavior-change strategies, and accountability support to empower clients to take ownership of their health.
Reporting Relationship:
This position reports directly to the Assistant Director, Fitness and Wellness. The Health Coach will work closely with professional staff across multiple departments and may collaborate with fitness professionals, but remains within their defined scope of practice.
