Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and proactive Part-Time Health Aide who will help ensure every student is healthy, safe, and ready to learn. The Health Aide manages the daily operations of the campus health clinic, provides first aid and basic health services, maintains student health records, oversees immunization compliance, conducts required state health screenings, and serves as a trusted liaison between families, healthcare providers, and the school community. This position is part-time (25 hours per week) and reports to the Assistant Principal of Operations.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
- One year of experience in a healthcare or medical setting
- Experience working with children preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Texas Department of State Health Services certification to conduct Vision, Hearing, Spinal, and Acanthosis Nigricans Screening
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting
- Familiarity with Texas school health requirements and immunization compliance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Primary Responsibilities
Student Health Services
- Provide first aid and basic health care for students during the school day
- Assess student illness or injury using established health protocols
- Maintain accurate clinic documentation for all student visits
- Administer medications according to physician orders and district policy
- Monitor students with chronic health conditions
- Develop and maintain Individual Health Plans (IHPs) when appropriate
- Respond appropriately during medical emergencies
- Notify parents or guardians regarding illness, injury, or emergencies
- Coordinate emergency medical services when necessary
Health Compliance
- Review and maintain student immunization records
- Ensure compliance with all Texas immunization requirements
- Conduct required state health screenings
- Coordinate follow‑up referrals for students requiring additional medical evaluation
- Maintain confidential student health files in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA guidelines where applicable
Family & Student Support
- Serve as a health resource for students, families, and staff
- Promote healthy habits and preventative care
- Communicate health concerns with parents in a timely and compassionate manner
- Collaborate with school staff regarding student medical needs
- Support attendance initiatives by identifying health‑related barriers
Collaboration
Work closely with Assistant Principal of Operations, Executive Director, Director of Special Programs, School Counselor, Teachers, Families, Community healthcare providers, and Emergency personnel.
Clinic Management
- Maintain clinic inventory and supplies
- Order medical supplies as needed
- Maintain accurate records and reports required by state and local agencies
- Ensure clinic cleanliness and readiness
- Follow all federal, state, and local health regulations
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain all required certifications
- Attend required professional development
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct
- Support school-wide events and initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned that support student health and school operations
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay: $19.00 per hour
- Part-time position (25 hours per week)
- Opportunities for annual compensation increases based on performance and experience
