  • Assists with arranging appointments and scheduling interviews for Regional positions.
  • Acts as receptionist when needed, including answering calls, taking messages and handling
  • Stays current with SRPL and PINES policies and procedures.
  • Fosters a climate of participation, creativity, and teamwork with and among staff.
  • Attends staff development workshops and other training as needed.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Position Description

Classification: FLSA non-exempt, 16 hrs/weekReports to: Regional Library Director

Overall Responsibility

This position is responsible for a variety of clerical and secretarial tasks at the Headquarters location of Statesboro Regional Public Libraries. This position works under minimal direct supervision and requires excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an office setting.
Physical Skills
  • Ability to sit or stand and use computer for extended periods and operate standard office equipment, daily.
  • Ability to lift and move up to forty (40) pounds and push one hundred (100) pounds, occasionally.
Training, Supervision, and Evaluation

The Headquarters Assistant is trained, supervised, and evaluated by the Regional Library Director.

Working Conditions
  • Majority of work performed in general office and library environment.
  • May include attendance at board meetings.
  • Requires periodic participation and attendance at events and training.
