Grand Street Settlement Inc. is seeking a Teacher Aide at the West Farms Child and Family Center in the Bronx. The role supports classroom activities, supervises children aged 0-5, and assists with activities, documentation, and partnerships with families.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4 hours per day, with potential adjustments to meet program needs. Minimum High School Diploma; one year of child experience preferred; must lift up to 35 pounds.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college credits preferred.
• At least one year experience working with children ages 0-5 and families.
• Ability to work with children and families with special developmental, social or cultural needs.
• Ability to maintain written records and manage time to complete assigned work.
• Ability to interpret safety regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to foster positive, professional relationships with participating families.
• Basic computer literacy in email, Microsoft Office.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise indoor and outdoor activities, using positive guidance and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Collaborate with classroom staff to prepare daily lesson plans and individualize for children.
• Assist in implementing readiness skills for kindergarten and beyond.
• Foster ongoing positive partnerships with families and encourage parental involvement.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and document relevant observations and concerns.
• Assist with attendance, health checks, home visits documentation, and safety inspections.
• Support classroom operations; substitute for other staff as needed; assist with inventory.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
