Essential Functions:

• Assist customers at self-checkout registers, monitoring and providing help as needed
• Interact proactively with customers to recommend products and services
• Greet, assist, and engage with customers across multiple registers
• Move throughout the checkout area, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products to complete transactions
• Thank customers and invite them to return

Customer Service:

• Deliver excellent customer service according to Lowe's policies
• Assist customers in locating and demonstrating merchandise
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and questions
• Show appreciation to customers
• Provide information on stock, special orders, warranties, and product benefits
• Train and coach team members in departmental duties and sales
• Process transactions using a cash register, handle refunds and returns
• Support front-end team with supervision and coaching
• Remove security tags, verify product info, and bag merchandise
• Answer and direct phone calls
• Open additional registers as needed to reduce wait times
• Assist with line vesting for quicker checkout

In-stock:

• Prepare register area at shift start and end, ensuring functionality and stock
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages
• Enter customer orders, verify receipts, and handle loading tickets
• Manage online orders and returns
• Verify prices and look up product info for price matching
• Record store usage items

Clean and Safe Stores:

• Monitor cash and obtain safety bags from the cash office
• Observe store entrances/exits for security, assist with alarms
• Detect shoplifting signs and report to management
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in store areas
• Ensure a safe work environment, conducting safety reviews and hazard reporting
• Follow safety procedures for equipment and store safety devices
• Operate store equipment as needed based on role

General:

• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of experience with computers and retail technology
• 1-2 years of retail cashier experience
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation

Preferences:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in product sales, customer needs assessment, and explaining warranties and features
• Experience as a head cashier and in retail departments at Lowe's
• Supervisory experience in any field
• Experience in shoplifting detection
