Essential Functions:

Note: Minors in this role may not be responsible for some activities listed below.

• Assist customers at self-checkout registers, monitoring and identifying those who need help.
• Engage proactively with customers to recommend products and services.
• Greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers across registers simultaneously.
• Move throughout the checkout area, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products as needed.
• Thank customers and invite them back to Lowe’s.

Customer Service:

• Provide excellent customer service by following Lowe's policies and programs.
• Assist customers in locating and demonstrating merchandise.
• Respond promptly to questions and guide customers through projects.
• Show sincere appreciation to customers.
• Communicate product and warranty information effectively.
• Train and coach team members in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Process sales, returns, and refunds using a cash register.
• Support front-end team with supervision and coaching.
• Handle security tags, verify product info, and bag merchandise.
• Answer and direct phone calls.
• Open additional registers when necessary.
• Assist in line vesting to improve checkout efficiency.

In-stock:

• Prepare the register area at shifts' start and end, ensuring equipment functionality and stock.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages.
• Manage customer orders, verify receipts, and load tickets.
• Review and process online orders and returns.
• Verify prices and look up product info for price matching.
• Record store items on use lists.

Clean and Safe Stores:

• Monitor cash in drawers and security bags.
• Oversee store entrances/exits for security and assist customers or staff.
• Detect shoplifting and security risks, reporting promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization per standards.
• Ensure a safe work environment through safety reviews and hazard mitigation.
• Operate store equipment as required.

General:

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of experience with computer use.
• Less than 1 year of experience with retail technology.
• 1-2 years of retail cashier experience.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.

Preferences:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in product sales, credit, warranties, and add-on sales.
• Experience as a head cashier and in Lowe's store departments.
• Supervisory experience in directing and coaching employees.
• Experience in shoplifting detection.
