Job summary

Vincennes University is seeking a part-time Adjunct Instructor of Guitar at the Vincennes campus for the 2026-2027 year. The successful candidate will provide collegiate-level private instruction for vocal students and direct vocal performing ensembles, with duties aligned to the Performing Arts Department.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in Music with a Guitar emphasis or related field with substantial coursework in Music (Guitar).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music with major emphasis in Guitar or related field with 18 credit hours in Music (Guitar).
• Experience or training in classical guitar required.
• Ability to work with diverse learning styles and student levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied guitar lessons to freshmen and sophomores (Music majors, pre-majors, electives).
• Prepare students for recitals, masterclasses, juries, and midterms.
• Participate in departmental recruitment and activities as needed.
• Provide high-quality learning experiences while upholding course standards and objectives.
• Teach and maintain courses in line with university policies.
