Job summary

Valley of the Sun YMCA in Tempe, AZ is seeking a part‑time Group Fitness Instructor. You will provide instruction, leadership, and a safe environment for group exercise classes at the 7070 S. Rural Rd. location, helping participants stay motivated through Silver Sneakers and related formats.

Requires solid fitness knowledge, at least 1 year teaching experience, and current First Aid/CPR‑AED plus a recognized group fitness certification. Benefits include staff membership and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Must have solid fitness industry knowledge.
• Minimum 1 year of experience teaching group fitness classes preferred.
• Valid and current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
• Current group fitness certification or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, leadership, and a safe environment during group exercise classes.
• Create positive memories for participants and motivate through Silver Sneakers classes.
• Observe safety, respond calmly in emergencies, and ensure participant well‑being.
