Job summary

City of Commerce City is seeking a Fitness Instructor to lead engaging group classes at our recreation centers in Colorado. You'll guide participants through safe, effective workouts and adapt sessions for different fitness levels, fostering inclusivity and health in the community.

Minimum qualifications include CPR/AED, 18+ years old, and the ability to demonstrate solid teaching skills. Certification in AFAA or ACE is welcomed, with a degree in Exercise Science as a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred but not required.
• Current CPR and AED certifications, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to demonstrate competent technical instructor skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, inclusive group fitness classes for diverse participants.
• Provide guidance on proper techniques and safe workout progressions.
• Adapt workouts for different fitness levels and abilities.
• Foster a positive, welcoming class environment and promote community health.
