Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a part-time Building Grounds Maintenance Specialist to service and operate grounds equipment during Monday–Friday weeks in Indiana. Responsibilities include landscaping, signage upkeep, and snow support; driving with Indiana license required.

Benefits include courses and professional development opportunities. Compensation is $19.00 per hour, up to 28 hours per week; proactive reliability and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED with knowledge of or experience in maintenance work.
• Must be able to read; work independently; operate hand/maintenance tools; operate lawn maintenance equipment; and maintain working relationships with faculty and staff.
• Driving is an essential function; valid Indiana driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds work including trimming trees/shrubs, maintaining planting beds, applying ground chemicals and pest control as needed.
• Plant and maintain annual flower beds; water as needed.
• Maintain road and building signage and ensure lots, drives and sidewalks are clear of debris; apply light patch materials as needed.
• Assist with snow plowing/shoveling and salting walks.
