Job summary

Marblehead is seeking a part-time Grounds Maintenance worker to perform parks maintenance on municipal and school properties. You will follow direction from the Recreation & Parks Foreman and help with routine grounds tasks and preventive upkeep.

Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, cleaning equipment, restroom sanitation, graffiti removal, and assisting with trash and general grounds duties. This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adaptability in a public-facing environment.

• Perform manual tasks, including cleaning equipment, weeding plant beds, painting, cutting brush, and other ground maintenance-related functions as needed.
• Perform additional responsibilities, including trash pick-up; cleaning, deodorizing, and sanitizing park restrooms: basins, stools, urinals; graffiti removal; and all other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, sound judgment, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with the public and/or other town employees.
• Perform duties, responsibilities, and activities that may change at any time with or without notice.

SUMMARY

This Part-Time Grounds Maintenance position is responsible for performing parks maintenance-related functions and work on municipal and school properties. The person in this position carries out assignments and completes tasks within the organizational structure of the Recreation & Parks Department.
