Job summary

Smart & Final in Los Angeles is hiring a Part-Time Associate for 371 Los Angeles. The role supports store operations, stocking, cashier duties, customer service, and general maintenance. Starting rate is $18.50 per hour, with responsibilities including inventory reception, shelf maintenance, and helping customers.

The ideal candidate can read/write English, interact with the public, and lift up to 60 pounds. Prior PC/Outlook use is a plus; retail certificates are a bonus.

Qualifications

• Read and write English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and coworkers.
• Follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, often up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise with proper pricing and rotation.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in store interiors and parking lot as directed.
• Operate a cash register and handle payments, refunds, and verify legal IDs for alcohol sales.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous customer service; assist customers to their vehicles when needed.
• Perform basic bookkeeping and inventory recording tasks.
