Job summary

Smart & Final in Long Beach is seeking a Part-time Associate to join the 434 Long Beach location. The role involves stocking, cashier duties, customer service, and store maintenance, with a starting rate of $18.50 per hour.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally and interact professionally with customers. The position offers a part-time schedule in a fast-paced, community-focused grocery environment.

Qualifications

Read and write English; interact with general public and co-workers.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
Present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and staff.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment, check pricing and rotate stock.
Clean and maintain sanitation standards in store and parking areas.
Operate a cash register and handle payments, refunds and limited alcohol eligibility checks.
Provide friendly, knowledgeable, efficient assistance to customers and assist with loading purchases to vehicles.
Perform basic bookkeeping duties and records for store supplies.
