The role requires staying focused at the grill, cooking to exact standards, and collaborating with other kitchen staff. Typical shifts Fridays 2PM-8PM and Saturdays 10:30AM-8PM with potential for more shifts.

Qualifications

• Part-time Grill Cook position on campus.
• Ability to manage grill line during peak hours.

Responsibilities

• Time food production so food is ready at service.
• Prepare items per recipes to preserve freshness and appeal.
• Use batch cooking techniques to avoid over/under production.
• Store items with correct labeling and dating.
• Hold items at proper temperatures (below 40°F for cold, above 135°F for hot).
• Follow work rules; be ready in kitchen in uniform at scheduled times.
• Stock management as needed.
• Work well with kitchen staff during busy times.
• Keep grill area, equipment and counters clean.

Creative Dining Services at the University Of Saint Francis is looking for a part-time Grill Cook. The Grill Cook is responsible for ensuring that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation.

We need a dedicated Grill Cook who will stay focused and present at the grill station during all shifts. You will manage our busy grill line, cook orders to exact standards, and keep your station running smoothly without wandering off during peak hours.

• Typical schedule is Fridays 2PM-8PM & Saturdays 10:30AM-8PM, with possibility of working more shifts!

Core Responsibilities:

• Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
• Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
• Hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures (below 40° if cold, above 135° if hot)
• Follow established work rules and regulations; ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time
• Putting away/Pulling stock as needed
• Work well with other kitchen staff during busy times
• Keep the grill area, equipment, and counters clean.
