Job summary

Sacred Heart Community Service in San José, CA is seeking a part-time Organizing Coordinator to build community leadership and support families in shaping decisions affecting their lives. The role is onsite and focuses on power-building, community engagement, and developing organizers through curriculum, training, and hands-on coaching.

You will recruit and train neighbors, connect participants to SHCS programs and partners, and track progress in data systems, with a commitment to anti-racism

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to our vision of equity and community power.
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice, anti-racism and anti-oppression frameworks.
• Ability to work with diverse people and cultures, with culturally competent practices.
• Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English, including meetings facilitation.
• 1+ year of outreach and recruitment experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong motivation and ability to inspire action and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Base Building: conduct outreach to identify leadership potential and recruit leaders.
• Scheduling and supervision: plan and deliver ongoing leadership development curriculum.
• Family plan clinics: support clinics, recruit and train leaders, connect to SHCS programs.
• Mutual support and partnerships: build collaborations with community partners and other programs.
• Agency participation: support SHCS programs, attend meetings, pursue professional development.
• Reporting: track progress and outcomes within SHCS data systems.
