Job summary

CGB Enterprises Inc is seeking an Origination Assistant to support the grain merchandising group with contract management, logistics, daily bid sheets, and basic accounting to ensure prompt invoice payments.

You will handle bids, sign contracts, assist with customer inquiries, coordinate with merchandisers, process payments, and help prepare month-end reports using standard office software. Candidate should have a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (or equivalent education and experience).
  • Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize grain purchasing principles to buy grain.
  • Provide bids to customers from bid sheets and enter contracts; follow up on unsigned and undelivered/unpriced contracts.
  • Work with customers not assigned to a merchandiser.
  • Respond to customer inquiries about facilities (dumping hours, commodities received, moisture limits, DP rates, etc.).
  • Notify various groups about bids, facility updates, USDA reports, and other topics via text messages.
  • Combine regional positions into summarized positions.
  • Process checks, follow up on outstanding receivables and unapplied cash on a daily basis.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of producer meetings and/or events.
  • Review and assist with collections on accounts receivable, as needed.
  • Update month‑end reports using applicable software (customer volume, demurrage, unloads, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

As an Origination Assistant, you will support the grain merchandising group in various tasks including contract management, logistics, compiling daily bid sheets, and assisting with accounting to ensure prompt invoice payment.

Qualifications

  • No required experience; clerical experience within a grain company preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of grain purchasing principles.
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including phone skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to work after hours/weekends as needed.
Physical Demands & Requirements

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, with negligible force constantly to move objects. Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as data preparation, reading, visual inspection, and use of measurement devices. Work environment is a normal office inside a moderate noise setting. Occasional travel up to 20% to other locations or customer sites.

Compensation

Base pay range: $21.35 – $26.01 per hour.
