Job description

PAY RATE: $13.20 per hour DOQ (up to 1,500 hours per year).

Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked. Click here for details.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the maintenance of the park golf course. Metropark golf courses are a 7-day per week operation in many types of weather and top candidates should have a reasonable amount of availability for scheduling purposes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

1. Operate Green, Tee and Fairway reel mowers.
2. Operate Rotary Rough mowers.
3. Rake and edge Sand Bunkers.
4. Operate Weed Whip.
5. Operate Utility Carts.
6. Weed and spread mulch in Landscape Beds.
7. Edge Sprinkler Heads.
8. Hand seed divots.
9. Pick up garbage and tree limbs.
10. Perform pin placement rotation on greens.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
2. Ability to work in all weather conditions.
3. Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
4. Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.
5. Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations.
6. Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
7. Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
8. Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.
9. Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
10. Ability to perform essential duties.
11. Lake Erie Metropark is a 7-day per week operation. It is expected that staff will be available to work as scheduled. At the same time, the parks are weather dependent, which may result in cancelled or shortened work schedules as necessary.
