Job summary

City of Lakeland invites applications for an entry-level Utility Worker in Lakeland Electric ED Engineering. This role trains in routine engineering tasks and provides support in engineering, statistical work, contracts, and construction activities.

The position is part-time (up to 30 hours/week) and requires certification from Lakeland Electric Power Academy or Traviss Technical College. You will assist with data collection, report preparation, CAD/GIS workflows, and basic office and field

Qualifications

High school graduate with required industry certification.
Ability to collect and organize data for analysis.
Willingness to learn routine engineering tasks and support in various departments.

Responsibilities

Performs basic level skills as required.
Collect and organize data for use and analysis by higher-level technicians or engineers.
Assist in preparing routine reports, forecasts, studies, memos, and related activities.
Learn basic CAD procedures to produce maps, drawings, charts, and related documents.
Enter data using processing devices and run programs to obtain output.
Learn to use GIS software and provide maps as required.
