Job summary

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in Geography and Environmental Science. This temporary, non-tenure track position supports the College of Arts and Sciences/Division of Social Sciences and may require teaching day, evening, weekend, or distance courses, contingent on offerings and funding.

Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, preparing syllabi and progress reports, and maintaining at least one office hour per course weekly.

Qualifications

• Possesses a Master’s degree in Geography, Planning, Environmental Studies, or closely related discipline.
• Ability to teach the assigned course(s).
• Teaching experience in Geography, Planning, Environmental Studies, or Environmental Science.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
• Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
• Maintain a minimum of 1 office hour per week for each course taught.
• Work under supervision to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
