Job summary

Boston College Biology Department invites applications for part-time faculty to teach Genetics in Fall 2026. Two sections of Foundations in Genetics (Fall 2026) with 3-credit sophomore level offerings. Class time: Section 2 on Tuesday/Thursday 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm.

Instructors are paid per course and receive shared office space to prepare lectures and meet with students. Qualifications require an MS, PhD, or other advanced degree; post-doctoral fellows are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Instructors teaching lecture courses must have an MS, PhD, or other advanced degree in an appropriate field of study.
• We will consider post-doctoral fellows seeking university teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver course lectures at the assigned course time.
• Write and grade examinations.
• Be available for 2-3 office hours per week.
• Write letters of recommendation when appropriate.
