Job summary

Colby Community College (CCC) invites applications for a part-time Adult Education Instructor to provide GED preparation and academic instruction to eligible incarcerated students. This position will be primarily assigned to Stockton Correctional Facility, with travel between Stockton and Norton Correctional Facility as needed.

Salary is $24.00 per hour, and the position is not eligible for benefits. Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree, and experience with incarcerated individuals and GED

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience working with incarcerated individuals preferred.
• Experience delivering adult education or GED prep preferred.
• Experience teaching or delivering instruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all KDOC background checks, orientations, training, and facility requirements within the probationary period.
• Develop and maintain weekly lesson plans aligned with Adult Education standards and GED preparation requirements.
• Provide classroom, small-group, individualized, and, where needed, virtual instruction for GED candidates.
• Differentiate instruction based on student skill levels and educational goals.
• Provide opportunities for direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, and group discussion.
• Utilize assessments, curriculum, and student data to guide instruction and identify needs.
• Incorporate technology and digital resources to enhance engagement and learning.
• Monitor attendance, progress, and readiness for GED testing; report progress to Adult Education staff.
• Maintain accurate student records including attendance and progress.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program improvement activities.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Adult Education.
