Job summary

Winscott Road Funeral Home in Benbrook, TX is seeking a Part-Time Funeral Services Assistant. Under the supervision of a licensed Funeral Director, you will help arrange and carry out services associated with preparation, memorialization and burial or cremation while ensuring the needs of client families are met with compassion and professionalism.

This role requires a four-year degree or equivalent, enrollment in Mortuary School, a valid driver’s license, and good computer skills.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
• Active attendance or enrollment in a Mortuary School/Program required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Funeral Director with client families to design services.
• Present merchandising and service options to families.
• Obtain information needed for obituaries, death certificates, permits, and insurance.
• Coordinate with clergy and others participating in the service.
• Prepare the deceased under supervision (dressing and casketing).
• Assist with scheduling visitations and services.
• Identify and remedy hazards on grounds.
