Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service and ensure customer satisfaction at the checkout. You will greet customers, bag groceries, handle payments, and maintain a neat, safe register area in a fast-paced store.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt for easy bagging.
• Check cart bottoms and under seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow bagging procedures for bag types.
• Scan orders and handle payments per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction.
• Maintain accurate cash control.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car.
• Keep work stations neat and observe safety standards.
