Job summary

Food Lion in Lexington, NC is seeking a friendly front-end associate to deliver fast, accurate service and greet customers by name when possible. You will support the Customer Service Manager and help maintain standards.

Responsibilities include scanning orders, bagging, cash handling, and assisting with Food Lion To-Go when applicable. This role requires good communication, the ability to stand for long periods, and adherence to dress code.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and cashier responsibilities.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt to aid bagging and grouping cold items.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Scan customers' orders and handle payments per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds, cash handling, and overrides.
• Assist with Food Lion To-Go orders when applicable.
