Job summary

Food Lion in Wendell, NC is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide fast, friendly service at the front end. You will greet customers, handle transactions, bag groceries and ensure a neat, efficient checkout area.

As part of our store team, you will maintain high standards of customer service, follow cash handling procedures, assist customers to car when needed and support daily front-end operations to drive sales and ensure a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a friendly approach and assist to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet customers by name when possible and provide prompt, accurate service.
• Unload groceries from cart, group items for efficient bagging.
• Scan items, handle payments, and complete cash transactions per standard practice.
• Maintain neat, clean front end area and proper work station presentation.
• Follow cash handling procedures and assist customers to their car when needed.
