Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Clerk to deliver fast, friendly service and maintain clean, organized front-end operations in Selma, NC. You will greet customers, process transactions, bag groceries, and assist with cashier duties while upholding Food Lion standards.

The role requires effective communication, reliability, and the ability to learn multiple tasks and system requirements. Training is provided, and safety policies are followed to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures and use of bags by type.
• Scan orders and handle payments per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds, error correction, and cash handling.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car.
• Maintain a neat front-end area and report any issues to management.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and safety practices.
