You’ll handle transactions, bag groceries, assist customers to their cars and keep the front end neat and stocked to Food Lion standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service to customers.
• Greet customers by name when possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt and group cold items.
• Check cart bottoms and under seats for items before completing orders.
• Follow bagging procedures for bag type.
• Scan orders and handle payments per standards.
• Avoid personal conversations with customers when they are present.
• Handle cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, and WIC vouchers per procedures.
• Follow refunds and error correction procedures.
• Maintain accurate cash control.
• Follow overrides and procedures.
• Assist customers by offering to take orders to their car.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance as needed.
• Check prices quickly and accurately.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Wear Food Lion uniform with name badge on duty.
• Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and corrals.
• Keep front end area neat and clean.
• Report register malfunctions to the Customer Service Manager or MOD.
• Ensure MVP savings center KIOSK is stocked and working.
• Adhere to all company guidelines and safety.
• Observe unsafe conditions and notify QA.
• Complete CBT and training aid courses.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
