Job summary

State of Utah’s JJYS department is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker I for an in-person assignment in Hurricane, Utah. The role involves preparing and serving meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met.

No prior experience is required; on-the-job training and a required food handlers class are provided. Applicants should be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed, supporting youth services with nutritious meals.

Responsibilities

• Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff.
• Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures.
• Prepares salads and garnishes and assists in basic food preparation or ordering.
• Distributes food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques
• Practices of food safety and public health protection
• Maintains inventory
• Tracks receipts
• Cleans, sterilizes and or disinfects areas and/or equipment.
• Uses cleaning agents, products and equipment
