YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a part-time Older Adults Food Service Worker at the Flatbush YMCA in Brooklyn. Under a Program Director, you will prepare and serve lunch and snacks according to a pre-planned menu aligned with Department for the Aging guidelines.

You will assist in kitchen cleanliness, health compliance, and daily records, contributing to a safe, supportive community environment for older adults.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience with Older Adults.
• Valid Food Handler’s License.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, utensils and equipment.
• Knowledge of sanitation principles applicable to food serving.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter, highly organized, patient and team-oriented.
• Weekdays 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM availability.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and serve hot and cold food; heat, pan and arrange items.
• Work as part of a team to assemble and portion food.
• Prepare salads, sandwiches and other foods for distribution; label and date items.
• Serve meals and assist with dining setup and catering activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment; sanitize surfaces.
• Operate standard food service equipment and ensure safety standards.
