Job summary

Maine Veterans' Homes is hiring a Part-Time Food Service Worker to support our dining services for veterans. The role offers a flexible 20–24 hour schedule with day and evening shifts, in a welcoming, award-winning facility in Maine.

You will prepare and serve meals, maintain clean serving and dining areas, and deliver excellent resident and staff service. The position emphasizes teamwork, customer service, and adherence to safety standards, with training provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including day and evening shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to menus and dietary guidelines.
• Set up and maintain serving areas.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff.
• Wash dishes and keep kitchen and dining areas clean and sanitary.
• Assist with food preparation and stocking supplies.
• Follow all food safety and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with the Dietary team to provide exceptional service.

Position Details

We are hiring a Part-Time Food Service Worker with a flexible combination of day and evening shifts.

Typical schedule may include:

• Day shifts: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Evening shifts: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Approximately 20–24 hours per week (hours may vary based on department needs and candidate availability).

What You’ll Do
