Job summary

Penn State Hazleton Housing & Food Services seeks two part-time Food Service Workers to support daily dining operations on campus in Hazleton, PA.

Two openings: first 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; second on Sunday 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Monday through Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Duties include food prep, serving, cleanliness, proper portions, and basic record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items such as salads, muffins, sandwiches, wraps, fruit, yogurt and desserts according to recipes.
• Set up and check dishes, utensils, condiments, and serving lines for service.
• Maintain quality, freshness and cleanliness of food bars and dessert stations.
• Ensure correct portion sizes and replace items not meeting standards.
• Set up displays for daily service and events; work on serving counters as needed.
• Follow menus and ingredient lists; monitor temperatures and log where required.
• Clean equipment, work areas, floors and surfaces to maintain sanitation.
• Assist with stock rotation and basic record-keeping of food service activities.
