Job summary

City of Richmond Hill Fire Department in Richmond Hill, GA is seeking a part-time firefighter to perform fire suppression and emergency rescue services. You will respond to alarms, operate equipment, and assist EMS while ensuring safety and property protection.

The position offers up to 1 shift per week and requires readiness for training and community outreach. Familiarity with NFPA standards and GA firefighter requirements is preferred, and licenses must be maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and basic skills training.
• Apprenticeship or 1–2 years related experience.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Georgia driver’s license.
• Familiarity with NFPA Firefighter Standards and Training Act.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and rescue calls as part of a fire team.
• Direct water streams and select nozzles based on fire type.
• Access upper floors by ladder; rescue occupants from buildings.
• Drive apparatus to fire scenes and manage scene safety.
• Ventilate buildings and create entry points when needed.
• Provide first responder care including CPR.
• Assist EMS in advanced care and transport to hospital.
