Job summary

City of Forest Park is seeking a Firefighter II/EMT to perform fire suppression, rescue, and EMS duties under general supervision. You will deploy hoses, enter burning structures, raise ladders, overhaul scenes, assist in determining origins, and operate fire apparatus and medical equipment with professionalism and teamwork.

The position includes inspecting buildings for fire prevention, preparing pre-fire plans for facilities, and delivering prevention education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• State of Ohio Certification as a Firefighter II and EMT.
• Able to pass background check, polygraph, and physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire suppression duties including deploying hose and entering buildings to extinguish fires.
• Lead salvage operations and assist in overhauls to prevent rekindle; operate fire apparatus and EMS equipment.
• Conduct fire prevention inspections and develop pre-fire plans for facilities; participate in education programs.
