NWFR serves approximately 55 square miles on North Whidbey Island. The district’s predominantly rural service area surrounds the City of Oak Harbor and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. NWFR operates from seven fire stations and provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, marine rescue, and technical rescue. The district responds to more than 2,500 emergency calls annually.
