Job summary

Rural Metro Fire in Chattanooga is seeking a Part-Time Firefighter/A-EMT with a commitment to a positive, collaborative work environment. Under supervision, you will train for and participate in fire suppression, rescue, and medical aid tasks.

This safety-sensitive position requires adherence to testing policies and a strong ability to respond quickly to emergencies, perform first aid, and maintain equipment. You will join a team dedicated to protecting lives and property with professionalism.

Qualifications

Current NFPA 1001 Firefighter I with Hazardous Materials-Operations.
Current State of TN Advanced EMT certification or ability to obtain reciprocity.
Physical fitness standards and ability to meet job demands.

Responsibilities

Respond to fires promptly and safely, utilizing hose and nozzle work and tools as directed.
Provide first aid and medical assistance within training level and scope.
Operate and maintain fire and rescue equipment and vehicles.
Assist in maintenance of apparatus, tools, and supplies in good working condition.
Remain calm and professional at incident scenes and follow established procedures.
Contribute as a team member at both emergency and non‑emergency events.
Complete non-firefighting tasks such as paperwork and timekeeping as required.
