Job summary

Atlanta Technical College seeks qualified Adjunct Instructors for Fire Science Technology in its Dual Enrollment program. The role entails lecturing, laboratory supervision, and potential online instruction with flexible day/evening/weekend hours.

Up to 29 hours weekly as a part-time adjunct. Responsibilities include course preparation, student advising, and maintaining safety, curriculum, and documentation per college policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Technology or related Public Safety field and 3–5 years as Fire Officer or higher; or Associate’s degree with 5+ years fire leadership/instructor experience.
• Certification as Georgia Firefighter or eligibility for certification; Pro-Board NPQ Fire Instructor II; Pro-Board NPQ Evaluator required.
• Master’s degree with 18+ graduate credits in Fire related field is preferred; 7+ years of leadership experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Teach college-level and developmental Fire Science courses.
• Advise and mentor students; assist with textbook selection and curriculum updates.
• Teach additional Public Safety and Allied Health courses as needed.
• Maintain diverse, inclusive classroom environment and handle documentation.
