Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License and ICS courses 100/200/700/800.
• Hazardous Materials Level 1 Responder Certification required.
• Fire Investigator Technician Certification within 1 year of hire.
• ICS 400 within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Enforces NC, federal and local codes by conducting fire inspections Burke County.
• Performs fire origin and cause investigations and related duties.
• Responds to missing person reports, bomb threats, rescues, hazmat incidents.
• Assists in fire review plans, alarm and sprinkler inspections.
• Educates the public on fire prevention tactics.
