The Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a part-time Financial Specialist II/III to support faculty, staff, students, and guests. Responsibilities include purchasing, travel arrangements, reimbursements, and managing financial transactions.

Strong customer service and knowledge of UW–Madison policies are essential. The role offers 60% on-campus work with up to 40% remote in-state, within standard business hours.

Formación

• Experience processing varied financial transactions (invoices, purchase orders, expense reimbursements, or purchases with an employer credit card).
• Experience allocating expenses to appropriate funding sources.
• Polite, accurate, and timely customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working independently and collaboratively with colleagues to resolve issues.
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks or projects.
• Proficiency using Excel or other spreadsheet applications.

Responsabilidades

• Creates general reporting for transactions.
• Drafts communications and advanced reports and maintains organization of records for administrative support.
• Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings.
• Answers advanced fiscal questions and provides information based on standards.
• Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments.
• Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends improvements.
• Audits or processes advanced transactions and assigns funding codes per rules and policies.
• Audits, monitors, organizes, and updates fiscal records and related materials.
