Job summary

Cooley Law School seeks a part-time File Clerk for the Innocence Project at its Lansing campus to support grant attorneys and collaborate with conviction integrity units. The File Clerk works with IP staff to identify and evaluate cases involving expert re-evaluation or forensic testing.

• Minimum of six months of office experience, criminal law practice or legal internship preferred.
• Strong writing, proofreading, and interviewing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support grant attorneys and IP collaboration with conviction integrity units.
• Identify and evaluate cases for prisoner innocence via expert re-evaluation or forensic testing.
• Handle confidential information and interact with the public in a high visibility role.
