First Student in Syracuse, NY is hiring a Part Time School Bus Driver to start mornings with student pickups and end with afternoon drops. Additional hours for field trips and events may be available, with comprehensive training provided.

You will help ensure student safety, perform pre/post trip inspections, and communicate with families and school staff while delivering reliable, friendly service across our district routes.

Formación

• Requires English proficiency to communicate with parents, staff, and dispatch.
• Customer service mindset for working with students and families.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to DOT and company policies.
• Ability to lead and manage student interactions on transportation.

Responsabilidades

• Safely transport students to and from activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain bus order and monitor safety standards during trips.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of brakes, lights, tires, and exits.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Follow traffic laws and company safety protocols.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service on every shift.
