Newma Wellness is seeking a part-time Certified Family Nurse Practitioner to join our primary care team. The role focuses on adult patients with some pediatrics in an outpatient setting, providing comprehensive, patient-centered primary care including preventive services and chronic disease management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years primary care experience as a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Current, unrestricted Colorado Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses.
• Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through an approved certifying organization.
• Current Colorado prescriptive authority appropriate to the position.
• Current DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and older pediatric patients.
• Perform health assessments, physical examinations, preventive screenings, and routine wellness visits.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries.
• Manage common chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, hyperlipidemia, and other ongoing health concerns.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations.
• Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with the provider’s scope of practice and prescriptive authority.
• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients.
• Refer patients to specialists and coordinate follow-up care as appropriate.
• Review and respond to laboratory results, refill requests, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient messages in a timely manner.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Follow Newma Wellness policies, clinical protocols, documentation standards, and established chains of communication.
• Collaborate respectfully with other providers, clinical support staff, lactation professionals, administrative staff, and community specialists.
• Protect patient confidentiality and maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
