Job summary

Cove Church Ministries seeks an Early Education Coordinator to oversee childcare for Cove Church events and ministries. This part-time, 20-hour-per-week position requires coordinating staffing, supervising workers, managing schedules, and ensuring safe, Christ-centered environments.

The role partners with the Director of Kids Cove, handles family communication, supplies, and curriculum support, and may require Sunday mornings and select ministry events.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating childcare, early childhood ministry, or a related setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, scheduling, and problem-solving skills with attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to recruit, onboard, coach, and hold paid childcare workers accountable to standards.
• Ability to communicate professionally with families, staff, and childcare workers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate childcare for Sunday mornings and approved church events, meetings, classes, and ministries; determine staffing, rooms, schedules, check-in needs, and event logistics.
• Maintain a reliable pool of paid childcare workers; communicate expectations, secure substitutes, and proactively resolve staffing gaps.
• Ensure childcare spaces are clean, safe, welcoming, prepared, and operated per procedures.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and supervise paid childcare workers; manage background checks and required trainings.
• Partner with the Director of Kids Cove to prepare age-appropriate Sunday curriculum and coordinate family communication.
