Part-Time Faculty: Physics - Spring 2025

The Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences at Quinnipiac University seeks qualified applicants for a part-time faculty position to teach physics courses during the Spring 2025 semester. Openings are available for PHY101 (Elements of Physics) or PHY111 (General Physics 2), including lecture or laboratory roles.

The College of Arts and Sciences offers a broad range of programs, providing a strong liberal arts education focused on developing students' intellectual and practical skills. Undergraduate majors include behavioral neuroscience, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, criminal justice, economics, English, game design and development, gerontology, history, interdisciplinary studies, law in society, mathematics, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, Spanish, and theater.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach one or more sections of PHY101 or PHY111, either lecture or laboratory, in Spring 2025.
  2. Offer at least one office hour per course weekly.
  3. Manage course materials, assignments, and grades via Blackboard.

Education Requirements:

A minimum of an MS degree in Physics or related field is required; a PhD is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Experience with instructional technologies, especially Blackboard.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals.
