Job summary

San Jacinto College Central is seeking part-time faculty to teach Physical Education related coursework. Applications are reviewed when openings arise; these positions are not current vacancies. Instructors are hired on an as-needed basis and work for the duration of the course.

Assignments may include evening or weekend classes and require a presence at the on-site work location. Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physical Education or higher.
• 18 graduate hours in Physical Education required.
• Specialty certifications in water aerobics or swim instruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Physical Education related course work.
• Assign and evaluate student performance.
• Possibly evening and weekend classes as needed.

Job description

Part-Time Faculty - Physical Education (Central)

Teaching Physical Education related course work. Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed if openings become available. These positions are not current vacancies. Instructors employed as part-time faculty are not entitled to all the rights, privileges, and benefits of regular, full-time employees. Part-time faculty are hired on an "as needed" basis and will work for the duration of time specified by the respective course. A portion of teaching assignment may be evening classes and possibly weekend classes. Faculty are assigned to teach courses using various delivery methods based on the teaching area and the needs of students and the College, which may require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree or above with at least eighteen (18) graduate hours in Physical Education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience and certifications in specialty (i.e. water aerobics and/or swim instruction etc.).

Salary Grade: AH
