Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) is seeking part-time nursing faculty to support its academic programs at the Arnold/Main Campus. We build a pool of qualified candidates, contacted as needed each semester based on enrollment and program needs.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of clinical nursing experience, BSN, and a current Maryland or NLC license. Prior teaching experience is preferred, with potential for ongoing, recurring opportunities in undergraduate nursing instruction.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to learning objectives as stated in course syllabi.
• Collaborate with course coordinator for weekly objectives.
• Effectively uses technology tools such as Docucare, ATI, Canvas.
• Evaluate performance of learning outcomes.
• Enforces rules and expectations in clinical, lab, or simulation per policies.
• Provide timely feedback to students on their clinical performance.
• Complete formative and summative assessments accurately.
• Submit required clinical forms to course coordinators.
• Respond to emails, information requests, and required reports from college.
• Comply with clinical partner onboarding requirements and college employment requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Attend nursing faculty meetings, staff meetings, and college activities as required.

Position Summary

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Adheres to learning objectives as stated in course syllabi
• Collaborate and consistently communicate with the course coordinator for implementation of weekly objectives
• Effectively uses technology tools such as Docucare, ATI, Canvas
• Evaluate performance of learning outcomes
• Enforces appropriate rules and expectations of students in clinical, lab, or simulation that comply with AACC Nursing department's policies and procedures
• Provide timely feedback to students of their clinical performance
• Complete the formative and summative assessment accurately
• Submits all the required clinical forms to the course coordinators including the Formative & Summative Directed Lab Evaluation forms
• Responds in a timely manner to emails, information requests, and required reports from college (e.g. attendance reports and clinical evaluation tools)
• Comply with the current clinical partner's onboarding requirements and AACC's employment requirement
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Attends and participates in nursing faculty meetings, staff meetings, and college activities as required by college administration

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum of two years of active nursing experience
• Recent clinical experience, preferably in acute care settingssuch as hospitals, nursing homes, mental health site, outpatient departments, or urgent care centers
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgroundsand to apply inclusive teaching practices
• Strong organizational and time management skillswith the ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skillswith a professional demeanor
• Unencumbered professional nursing licensein Marylandor a Compact (NLC) state
• Current CPR certification
