Imperial Valley College is seeking Part-Time Faculty in Music for a continuous applicant pool, based at 380 East Aten Road, Imperial, CA. The position offers a $75.00 hourly rate and requires instruction in line with approved curriculum and course outlines.

Assignments are contingent on class needs, seniority, and qualifications. Ideal candidates will have a Master’s in Music or a Bachelor’s in Music with a Master’s in Humanities, and a demonstrated commitment to serving a diverse student body

• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students.
• Transcripts and equivalency documentation must accompany application.

Responsabilités

• Provide instruction in accordance with Imperial Valley College curriculum and established course outlines and as assigned based on needs of the college.
• Assignments are based on availability of classes, seniority, and qualifications; include class preparation, student evaluation, and developing syllabi.
• Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and syllabi by published deadlines.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics in the role.
• Advise students on academic matters and maintain competency in the field.

Representative Duties

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. This role is best suited for an exceptionally motivated candidate who demonstrates genuine interest in engaging with a diverse student body and possesses a deep-seated passion for fostering academic growth and knowledge. Your commitment to creating an environment that actively promotes diversity and inclusion will be a fundamental cornerstone in this role. This position provides a unique chance to leave a lasting impact on our diverse academic community. Provide instruction in accordance with approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and established course outlines and as assigned based on the needs of the college. E Assignments are based upon availability of classes, seniority, and qualifications not limited to conducting classes, class preparation, student evaluation, course syllabus, assessing and evaluating student learning outcomes, and other related duties. E Maintain and submit accurate records according to published deadlines (i.e., grades, syllabi, attendance reports). E Responsibilities also include maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position. E Advise students on academic matters. E Maintain competency in the field. E

Minimum Qualifications

An applicant may qualify for this position by having education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees. To be considered for equivalency, the candidate must submit college transcripts and a complete description of work experience with his/her application. Master's in music; OR Bachelor's in music AND Master's in humanities; OR the equivalent. Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).
