Part‑Time Faculty – Nursing Assistant Program (Sylvania Campus)

Portland Community College invites qualified nurses to join a part‑time faculty pool for the Nursing Assistant Program. Applicants must reside in Oregon or Washington and will be considered for clinical, lecture or lab teaching assignments throughout the academic year.

Scope of Work

• Clinical Instructor: Supervise, instruct and evaluate nursing assistant students in a clinical setting at a designated site for 2 days or evenings per week/term. Manage 4–6 students at a time and report to the program director.
• Lecture/Lab Instructor: Instruct and evaluate students in lab settings, coordinating with the program director.

Qualifications

• Primary Instructor: Hold a current Oregon RN license; have at least two years of RN experience; demonstrate completion of a teaching‑adults course or one year of adult teaching experience.
• Clinical/Lecture‑Lab Instructor: Hold a current Oregon RN or LPN license; have the equivalent of at least one year of licensed nursing experience.

Appointment Requirements

New hires must complete mandatory drug screening, background check, vaccination verification, and required online training modules.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly rates determined by course type (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab) and pay a Step1 salary on the current schedule.
• Eligible for Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans.
